Bentley claims a zero-to-60 mph acceleration time of 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 184. Nevertheless, the Mulsanne also has a sedate, stately side that easily qualifies it as a chauffeur-driven conveyance, should you so choose.

The Mulsanne is faster and more fuel-efficient thn the Arnage it replaces, and its dimensions purr “drive me” like no other Big Bentley to come before.

The Bentley Mulsanne is an intangible representation of everything that is good and bad about Great Britain, and if you don’t like it, you are either too poor or too ordinary or both. No matter. This is the best four-door that Bentley has to offer.

With its new Mulsanne, Bentley has masterfully fused the disparate aspects of a brand that’s both athletic and unparalleled in luxury. Just as its interior is a mix of old-world refinement and modern-day technology, so is its ride quality. I found the Mulsanne solid yet agile, powerful yet quiet.

I found the Mulsanne to be a big car that proved surprisingly wieldy. The lap of luxury? Yeah, pretty much, but my experience with Bentley’s electronic gadgetry has been consistently poor.

Extraordinarily smooth, quiet and fuss-free. Ultrafast but effortless, the Bentley Mulsanne blasted us along Scottish two-lane roads with authority.

The 2012 Bentley Mulsanne is a wondrous device. Shame about those headlights, though. On the road, it is a massive improvement over the Arnage and a much sportier vehicle than its direct rival, the Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Bentley goes to great lengths to impart a special feeling with the Mulsanne, and nowhere is that more evident than in the interior. In most cars, we note the quality of the plastics; in the Mulsanne we couldn’t find any plastic.

The poshest offering in Bentley’s already lofty lineup, the new Mulsanne asserts the brand’s most ambitious ideals of limited volume and hand-built assembly. Despite its sports car–like specs, the sensations behind the wheel are honey smooth and impressively isolated.

The Mulsanne is a sybarite’s delight: cold chrome on brass organ stops and bull’s-eye air vents, silky smooth crossbanded veneers, supple hides and toe-warming carpets assault the senses. As for performance, Bentley promises 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.4 seconds and a mammoth 184-mph top speed.

Underway, the 2011 Bentley Mulsanne shares much with heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali. A hard puncher, with swift, graceful feet, the car is amazingly quick.
