We were impressed with its overall style and functionality, while being happy to see much of the 6-Series grand touring oriented handling characteristics were maintained in this category-defining grand tourer.

With its robust technology roster, the 2012 BMW 650i makes for a very enjoyable and comfortable car to drive, while providing the latest in convenience.

We like the 640i best among the BMW 6 Series cars. It’s the simplest, smoothest and sweetest, with an impeccable engine, transmission, ride and brakes. Its styling is beautiful and interior luxurious. The downside is that some of the electronic features are over-engineered and maddening, but that’s standard for BMW.

The 650i convertible is a beautifully constructed pleasure package with exotic looks, flamboyant styling, and ultra-luxe interior furnishings.

The 2012 BMW 650i convertible is more art than car, stunningly beautiful art, the kind that draws admiring crowds and gets preferred spots in big-city parking garages with no request or bribe. If you are looking for practicality, look elsewhere. Convertibles are inherently impractical automobiles.

It’s big, luxurious, and fast. The 2012 BMW 650i banishes the awkward look of its predecessor with a sharp new design. The 650i is a big car, but it throws down performance figures that other similarly powered and much lighter machines could only dream of.

Probably the best use of the 2012 BMW 650i Convertible is as a grand touring convertible, heading for some exotic destination, the top down and open to the elements, and stretching the legs of that fine V8.

Although the 2013 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is a little late to the coupe-styled luxury sedan market, given its combination of performance and practicality it looks as if it was worth the wait.

The Gran Coupe walks onto the luxury-coupe stage able to act most any part in the play. It has a lovely fluent feel on the road, while offering saloon-like space, ride comfort and a good dose of the grandeur that BMW’s coinage somehow implies.

The 640i Gran Coupe is a lusciously appointed way to go motoring in style. With enough performance to keep most BMW enthusiasts satisfied, and a wealth of luxury features to cosset the rest of the interested shoppers, it will be tempting buyers of all orientations.

The new 640i Gran Coupe offers a multitude of options for a driver to choose how he wants to control his vehicle. From a quad that thinks it’s a deuce, to a sporting corner cutter, to a debutante delivery vehicle, it tries to span a wide variety of segments – and it mostly succeeds.

The 640i Gran Coupe is remarkably agile for such a large package, and it’s a remarkably strong performer. It is an elegant and sporting tool for fun driving.
