The M6 Convertible is one of the fastest drop-tops we’ve ever driven. Both available V8 and I6 engines have been upgraded. So, with more style and space, and more performance added to the BMW deck, this pair of “sixes” looks like another winning hand.

After a two-year hiatus at the spa, the M6 returns, this time more agile, lighter, and more powerful than ever. Few owners will ever take this brute to its limits, either on or off the track, but it’s good feeling to know the potential is there.

Sporting a new powertrain, a revised look, and a simplified driver interface, this fast machine is every bit as impressive but much more livable than before. It has always been an impressive performer, but it now also has the polish one expects in a $100,000 coupe.

With sharp styling and performance to match, the 2013 BMW M6 is easily one of the best touring cars on the market.

BMW’s flagship convertible is faster, handles better, and is much easier to live with as a daily driver than the previous-generation M6. It’ll cost you plenty, but this revamped M6 is actually the one that deserves the most attention from prospective buyers.

It’s amazing at how this M6 shrinks the gap between the “true” supercars in terms of feel and performance. It can’t be considered an outright performance bargain, but its combination of luxury, technology, and crushing speed sure look like half-price supercar stuff to us.

The M6 is a propulsive German warhead, engineered to shatter your gated subdivision, though tastefully. It has more padded leather than a Berlin nightclub. But it seems to approach the outer limits of usable — especially when it only intermittently engages its driver.

Truth be told, I think the M6 is a hell of a car for the money. And it is the only BMW today that I truly love.

I value the M6′s perfect interior, comfortable seats, electronic do-dads and LED headlamps over straight-line or corner performance. Here is a BMW that embodies all the luxury I demand yet sacrifices only a smidgin of track performance in the process.

The new BMW M6 Cabriolet is a technological powerhouse. It has the gadgets, the comfort, the speed and the looks. Unfortunately the M6 drop-top it is a bit too heavy, and it’s just is not as much fun to drive as its powerful motor or M badging would suggest.
