The CTS-V Coupe is F-U-N. Blend massive power with glee-inducing handling, wrap it in a polarizing exterior design, throw in a cabin that needs a bit more love and sell it all for peanuts, and that, friends, is a Nissan GT-R with a Cadillac badge.

American consumers’ aversion to wagons is a disadvantage for this version of the Cadillac CTS-V, but it’s also an advantage, mainly because this car is the only game in town for performance fiends who want more practicality than a sedan can deliver.

The CTS-V Wagon gives you a stylish car that you can take to the opera, to a family reunion and grocery shopping. But on an uninterrupted stretch of road you can sit back, hit the accelerator and see how long it takes to lose that car in your rearview mirror.

There’s not another wagon in the CTS-V’s league, at least until a new Mercedes E63 AMG wagon goes on sale later this year. That makes the Cadillac the wildest family-car fantasy this side of a Porsche Cayenne Turbo or BMW X5 M.

The CTS-V is one of the most exciting performance vehicles on the market. I can see the subset of drivers who want a relatively low-profile performance wagon being thrilled with this car despite potential reliability issues.

The 2012 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon delivers a tough-to-beat combination of world-class performance, style and value in a practical wagon body.

If you’re looking for a family carry-all that can haul five passengers and their luggage while offering the performance of a high-powered sports car that you could race with a straight face on the weekend, there’s probably no better option than the CTS-V Sport Wagon.

While capable on track with sticky Michelins, form-hugging Recaros and speed-shedding Brembos, the most remarkable feature may be how well this CTS-V Coupe works as conventional, albeit luxurious, transportation.

The CTS-V Sportwagon is utterly, cosmically and seismically wrong, a filthy, shameful ogre of torque that bellows and sets alight thatched roofs as it drives by—Caliban with pushrods. It’s illicit, overpowering, sexy and a touch scary. Yet never boring.

If you’re looking for a coupe and put high stock in style and potent performance, the CTS-V coupe is ideal. Nothing looks quite like it on the road and it garners plenty of praise from people in parking lots and at stoplights.

The 2011 CTS-V Wagon is simply the Coupe with better visibility and room for water skis, snowboards, mountain bikes and more (thanks to the roof rack). Could performance come in a more practical package? (Subaru WRX hatchback drivers… you understand.)

The CTS-V strikes a sweet spot between American muscle and European-bred handling. It looks classier than a ‘Stang or ‘Vette, yet you can smoke the back tires in first gear.
