The 2009 Corvette ZR1 is the best car ever made. It redefines what performance cars are capable of, not by its numbers, (0-to-60 in 3.3 seconds and 205 MPH), but by how it makes those numbers so accessible.

Unlike some supercars that can’t find their capes when they’re off the track, the Corvette ZR1 is always poised, controlled, and quick-witted.

With a 205 mph top speed, and quarter mile time of 11.3 seconds. Supercar performance indeed from the ZR1, featuring a hand-built LS9 6.2-liter V8. And the super ‘Vette gets 24 hwy mpg!

TheChevrolet Corvette ZR1 is one of the most incredible cars I’ve ever driven. And at $105,000 — or $115,000 with the extra goodies — it’s a pretty good deal.

One of the brighter spots in the U.S. auto scene is the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 — a relatively inexpensive car that tangos with uber-expensive exotics.

The ZR1’s 638 horsepower are the most ever squeezed into a Chevy. In an age when mileage is sacred and speed is a sin, this Corvette is an absolute blast.

Sure, you don’t get the supercar badge or mid-engine placement that you get with the many a Prancing Horse or Raging Bull, but for $106,000 the Corvette ZR1 provides more horsepower, far more torque, and just as thrilling a driving experience.

After doing one run in the Corvette ZR1 at the Bonneville Speed Week, I accidentally broke the all-time record for a production car. 0 to 167 mph in a mile.

The 2010 Corvette ZR1’s new-for-2010 Performance Traction Management (PTM) won’t drive for you, but it removes the risk in throttle control, which is the most demanding skill required to effectively drive a car this powerful. If the ZR1 was well mannered before, now it’s downright domesticated.
