The Town & Country has more power, it’s safer, and it’s exhilarating (!) to drive. But a minivan’s main mission is about moving human cargo in a comfortable, feature-rich, and well-executed cabin. It’s here where Chrysler really stepped up.

The Town & Country is a more than acceptably fast van, with a driver-focused interior and an upscale appearance. Behold: the thirty-seven-thousand-dollar minivan.

Minivans are the ultimate utility players and, for many people, what they need is still more important than what they want. The new 2011 Town & Country simply provides all the utility and just a touch more class along the way.

The 2011 Town & Country impressed us with more refined styling, a strong new powertrain and vastly improved interior. While it may still not be as refined a ride as the competition, Chrysler counters by offering more standard features and technology without charging a knee-buckling MSRP.

The Town & Country finished last year as the best-selling minivan in the U.S. With its updates for 2011, the Town & Country is well-positioned to keep its title in the segment despite revised competition from Nissan, Honda and Toyota.

The previous Town & Country rode like a big American car from the ‘70s, which is to say softly, but the 2011’s new suspension tuning keeps the van’s body motions better in check while still delivering a comfort-oriented ride that families will appreciate.

Chrysler has made some huge improvements to the Town & Country, particularly to its interior and powertrain. It may not be a clear winner over competing vans, but it has become competitive once again.

Although the Chrysler Town & Country boasts a strong engine, confident handling and a well-trimmed cabin, it still trails the competition in terms of refinement.

Tthe improvements made to the 2011 T&C are worth crowing over. Beyond the big box itself, nearly everything inside and out is new, refined, tweaked and massaged to bring Chrysler’s people-mover squarely into the 21st century.

The multiple mechanical changes make the 2011 Chrysler Town & Country a contender. But segment leaders like the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna are still steps ahead through their enhancements for 2011. By comparison, the T&C lacks some of the refinement found in the Honda and Toyota.
