A careful mining of  Dodge’s past gives the new car enough retro touches to tie it to the Chargers of  yore. It’s still a bad-ass, but it’s now a better car to live with.

The 2011 Dodge Charger R/T has a more refined ride than its predecessor, and its handling is honest and secure. Its cabin has finally made the leap from the 1990s and offers both quality materials and the modern technology you expect in this price range.

The Dodge Charger is unique in that there aren’t many full-size rear-wheel drive sedans these days. For those in search of the last great American full-size rear-drive sedan, the hunt may just begin – and end – here.

Between the abundant dynamic improvements, the retro-chic restyle, better outward visibility, and dressier interior, the 2011 Charger represents a significant leap forward for the beleaguered brand.

The Dodge Charger still represents great value for the money. However the 2011 model is largely free from compromise. It’s one that’s a decent transmission away from entering the pantheon of automotive greats.

If Bo and Luke were looking to do another series, the 2011 Dodge Charger is definitely a car they’d do well to consider. Yee-haw.

The Dodge Charger is the eccentric uncle among large family sedans. It’s a rear-wheel-drive muscle car with an available Hemi V-8 engine, and the updates it gets for 2011 don’t change that.

With smoother power delivery and better transmission calibration, this would be a great car. But in its current state, the new Charger is a very good car let down by a middling powertrain.

The Charger R/T is a passionate play in a niche full of milquetoast four-doors. You don’t have to wear a mullet to love it and own it—but we won’t get on your case if you grow one out, just to see if it fits.

A pleasant yet commanding highway cruiser, the Dodge Charger R/T is agile enough, though its size and weight are hard to hide. But dull throttle response kills much of the fun of owning a big V8; we’d stick with the V6 model.

Redesigned from the ground up, the 2011 Charger refines its ride, improves its interior and continues to roar down the road. From the big front seats to upgraded materials throughout, it feels like a premium sedan, but still Dodge tough.
