Few three-row SUVs or crossovers are as enjoyable to drive as the Dodge Durango. Add in its undeniable style and its sophisticated interior and the Durango really makes a case for itself.

The 2011 Durango is the best SUV Dodge has ever built, with modern styling, a spacious cabin, engine offerings providing decent fuel economy or generous pulling power, a bevy of creature comforts and upscale features, and a reasonable price.

In terms of three-row crossovers/SUVs, there isn’t anything that looks even half as cool as a Durango, and very few that have the performance to back up their looks. The Durango R/T isn’t cheap, but it seems like a fair price for a modern, stylish SUV.

The Durango is one of the true ‘all-rounders’ that just seems to do everything well and looks good doing it. If we were plunking our hard-earned cash down on a three-row SUV, we’d have a tough time walking past the Dodge dealership.

Not only does this all-new 2011 Dodge Durango soar above the bar set by the truck-based SUV it replaces, it is now easily a top choice among all large three-row crossovers.

The Dodge Durango is near the top of its class in many of the things SUV buyers want: plenty of seats, good cargo capacity and great hauling flexibility, class-leading towing capacity and dual-range all-wheel drive.

Once again, Chrysler has delivered a vehicle that competes on both tangible and intangible qualities. It’s simply a real SUV, priced realistically, that happens to be real(ly) good.

If we were competitors in the new Durango’s massive split crosshairs, we would worry. The 2011 Dodge Durango is poised to usurp the competition’s best with a ringer.

Call it a crossover, call it a uni-body constructed vehicle or call it an SUV. Just don’t underestimate it. The Durango can tow, haul and carry the heavy loads. What everyone will notice right away, however, is how crisp and clean the exterior looks.

Thanks chiefly to its welcoming interior and athletic yet comfortable handling, the 2012 Dodge Durango is fully competitive against top crossover SUVs.
