The 2010 Hyundai Tucson is more fun to drive, more stylish and and more affordable than most of its Japanese and American competition.

Hyundai’s attention to design detail, interior layout, feature packaging, build quality, and general refinement make it clear the Tucson is an A-list player.

Tucson offers a lavishly equipped package, with all the engineering, comfort, and over-the-road advantages demanded of a contemporary crossover utility. This vehicle is nothing less than world class, at a price slightly below world class.

The 2010 Hyundai Tucson is a surprisingly attractive, solidly built and well-equipped offering that should give some of the better-known entries in the segment, like Toyota’s RAV4, a real run for the money.

The Kia Tucson is one of the best-driving and best all-round crossovers currently on the market. It’s good-looking, the most fuel-efficient in its class, and stands to be one of the best value propositions in the small crossover market.

The 2013 Hyundai Tucson might not be as roomy as its main rivals, but it makes amends with a handsome design, an ample list of features, sporty handling and a low price. It’s a solid pick for a small crossover.

I enjoyed driving the Tucson and congratulate Hyundai not only on a very good new product, but also on taking a quantum leap from the previous generation.

The Tucson showed me that Hyundai understands that most automotive consumers, especially those in need of family transportation, look primarily for affordability, safety, fuel economy, comfort and reliability.

With an interior that compares favorably with Honda’s CR-V and puts the Toyota RAV4 to shame, and with curb appeal to spare, the 2010 Hyundai Tucson could do a lot better than the 2 percent of segment share it is currently enjoying.

Hyundai needed a small crossover-utility vehicle to get U.S. buyers to pay attention in a market segment dominated by Honda CR-V, Ford Escape and Toyota RAV4. The new Tucson could be the new champ among small SUVs.

The Hyundai Tucson is surprisingly comfortable, offers a quiet, smooth ride and still has import good looks. It drives like a car, hauls like a crossover and costs less than some compacts.
