The FX35 is one of the most fully equipped vehicles you can buy, and to prove the point, our $52,445 test model did not include a single, optional extra. That really speaks to the value inherent of the base model FX35. If you need an SUV that handles like a Corvette, then this Infiniti is the one to chose.

Aggressive, streamlined, sporty, and yet tall, the Infiniti FX packages crossover functionality into one of the most graceful forms on the market—and its performance matches.

The FX is a fundamentally strange beast, a crossover that shares its rear-wheel-drive platform with Nissan and Infiniti sports cars. I think it looks like a jacked-up extraterrestrial insect, and I mean that as a compliment.

The FX35 might not be perfect, but it delivers a unique driving experience. Its interior is as tasteful and cosseting as the exterior is outlandish and off-putting.

The FX35 is well-designed from an aesthetic view point, carrying Infiniti styling effortlessly from sedan to SUV. The cabin tech interface also wins it design points. But while the cabin is comfortable, its cargo space is limited, losing a little on practicality.

Design, performance and technology drive the 2012 Infiniti FX to the forefront of luxury SUVs. But if practicality and utility are among your needs, look elsewhere.

The refreshed 2012 Infiniti FX35 is essentially the same sporty performer it’s always been, but its balky transmission and the evolving crossover/SUV market make its appeal narrower all the time.

With an emphasis on performance, style and technology, the 2011 Infiniti FX is an enticing choice for a luxury SUV. But it comes up short regarding practicality and utility.

The evergreen FX is still an appealing option for those seeking performance and space in a unique package. Though some of its design is distinctly dated compared to other crossovers, the FX is to be applauding for its effort to appeal to enthusiasts.
