In many ways the JX35 is a minivan on the inside. In this case that’s a big compliment, with plenty of space and utility wrapped inside an incredibly attractive package. And with such an attractive price, there are few reasons, if any, to look elsewhere.

the JX35 is a beautiful wagon, fluid in exterior design, with jewel-like grille and headlamps. You are forced to look at it, an elegant motorized homage to affluence, or at least to the desire for same. And it gets the job done. I only wish that it would do it using less fuel.

The 2013 Infiniti JX35 is a well thought-out and finely executed new entrant in this tough segment. With its aggressive pricing, rich interior and unique available technologies, it could well be the breakthrough mainstream crossover that has so far eluded this premium Japanese brand.

The Infiniti JX has obviously struck a chord with wealthy drivers looking for luxury crossover without an A in front of its name. It may have taken some time to get here, but for a certain type of buyer, the smart alternative could not have arrived soon enough.

We have no doubt that this spacious, luxurious seven-seater will find plenty of takers. Starting at $41,400, the JX35 is a competitive alternative not only to luxury players, but also to pricey mainstream crossovers.

No, it’s not a “driver’s” car. But the JX, with its clever rear seat design, supremely comfortable interior and cool safety technology, is perfectly aimed at the heart of the luxury crossover segment. And its starting price is right where it needs to be.

Families who don’t want the stigma of driving a minivan will be well served by the 2013 Infiniti JX. The space is quite useful, the ride comfortable and the environment luxurious. It may not be as sporty as other Infiniti models, but as a family-oriented vehicle it doesn’t need to.

This may be the first 3-row crossover for Infiniti, but it appears to have all of the bases covered; comfort, luxury, and practicality are all in the lineup as the 2013 JX35 looks ready to go to bat against other luxury CUVs.

If you option the JX35 judiciously, you’ll bring home an eminently practical and affordable SUV with the proven 3.5 liter Nissan/Infiniti V6 under the hood, lots of luxury trimmings inside, and enough seats to transport the soccer team to games.

The JX does a commendable job of getting seven people into one vehicle without cash bribes or contortionist poses and then keeps them content and comfortable.

The JX scores high marks for its attractive exterior and interior design, loads of high-tech options and a very reasonable price tag. At the other end of the spectrum, this luxury CUV is let down by its uninspiring powertrain, average fuel economy and pontoon boat handling.

The JX’s drive is a bit less inspired than we’ve come to expect from Infiniti, but factor in the price, luxury, fuel economy, interior space and features and the newest three-row luxury crossover is instantly the best.
