Where the standard GS is a mild-mannered sedan, the hybrid version gives you such a sharp whack up the backside that the 450h is in a different performance league all together. The interior is palatial, handling is surprisingly good and it is painless fast.

The 2013 Lexus GS 450h has still got the sauce to back up its rep as a performance hybrid, but now it gets the kind of fuel economy for which owners could actually be smug about. And isn’t that the point of hybrids anyway?

The Lexus GS 450h accelerates like it doesn’t want to be eaten. Instant torque, party of one, your stoplight is ready. It’s the world’s first performance luxury hybrid, and we loved its performance. That’s right, love.
