The 2011 Lexus IS350 F-Sport handles well, moves like nobody’s business, seats two semi-oldsters in utter comfort and exacts only a modest penalty at the filling station. It came close to stealing my heart.

The 2012 Lexus IS F offers up impressive performance and tenacious road-holding grip. It’s also much more suitable as a daily driver thanks to recent suspension improvements. But other luxury sport sedans might still hold more appeal.

My overall experience with the IS-F was pleasant. It’s more than fast enough on the track, and if the transmission doesn’t work very well at least the rest of the running gear is up to snuff. But at $65K, its appeal will be limited to only the most hardcore of Lexus fanatics, assuming any exist.
