If one isn’t much taller than 6 feet, the Miata PRHT broadens the appeal of the car for the typical daily commuter. On the road, the hardtop-equipped Miata was as much a joy as ever, with its tossable, playful character, ample power, and top-down appeal.

The Mazda Miata is sheetmetal proof that test-track numbers alone can’t pick a great driver’s car. It’s far, far better than mere digits could ever convey.

For fun, it is hard to beat the 2010 Mazda Miata. With its tight steering and short throw shifter, the car is a driver’s dream. But the Miata’s tech, from cabin to under the hood, is only average.
