Certain aspects of the new Altima didn’t change, but a lot more did. As lovers of driving, we’re thrilled to report the Altima’s sporting disposition remains intact. And technology is an Altima strong point.

The new Altima remains one of the most engaging family sedans, and now its fuel economy approaches 40 mpg on the highway. At that level, Nissan should have no problem attracting the most frugal family-sedan buyers.

The exterior styling of the new Altima is, in a word, elegant. Step inside and you’ll be greeted by a luxurious interior. And the handling has also been noticeably improved.

We liked the previous-generation Altima for its responsive handling, composed ride and user-friendly electronic features. These things continue, and they are now complemented by more expressive exterior styling and a higher-quality cabin.
