The 2013 Nissan Rogue SV makes good use of its power with a responsive CVT. The crossover’s handling is smooth and predictable. The SL package upgrade adds a lot of tech for not a lot of money. I was totally unprepared to love this little crossover as much as I did.

It’s increasingly hard to stand apart in the competitive class of small CUVs, but credit Nissan’s designers and engineers for infusing the 2013 Rogue with interior refinement, sharp styling and agile road handling, and making it one of the more distinctive choices in the group.

The Rogue makes an enticing proposition. For less than $30,000, you can bring home a brand new, luxuriously outfitted family wagon that looks as muscular as an SUV, but costs no more to operate than an economy sedan. In its niche, the Rogue has bragging rights to the top rung of the ladder.

The 2012 Nissan Rogue is a comfortable crossover with an unusually nice interior. It’s also unusually fun to drive. Unless you require maximum cargo space and rear-seat functionality, it’s a strong contender.

While the 2011 Rogue manages to cover all of the crossover bases, there’s very little to differentiate this compact utility from the rest of the crowd.

Overall, Rogue’s competitors are quieter and more refined, but this compact Nissan gets points for sleek styling, high levels of interior functionality, and value pricing.

The 2011 Nissan Rogue is handsome both outside and in, and it represents a good value. True to its name, though, the Rogue is a little rough around the edges.

The Rogue falls mid-pack in the field of small SUVs. This is actually a pretty good position in this crowded field and Nissan has done well by essentially shrinking the design of their much loved Murano.

The Nissan Rogue is average across the board, but its major downside is that you can hardly see out of this thing.

The 2010 Nissan Rogue has the right amount of charm, utility and fun to endear it to those who drive it. As long as you don’t mind its leisurely acceleration, it’s a great traveling companion.
