If ever there was a truck that seemed intent on living up to its “hard work and hard play” functional design for the so-called active truck buyer, it’s the Nissan Titan.

Nissan has landed in formerly hostile full-size pickup country and managed to deliver a great offering in the Titan King Cab Pro-4X.

The 2010 Nissan Titan boasts a robust powertrain with responsive acceleration, good brakes, good towing performance, a comfortable cabin and plenty of feature choices.

If you’re a light-duty pickup user and you drive your truck every day, you could be very happy with the Nissan Titan.

While Titan doesn’t give you as many drivetrain choices as some of its competitors, it provides plenty of power for hauling and towing, a spacious cabin with room for up to six adults, innovative design features and one of the smoothest rides in the segment.

The 2012 Nissan Titan lineup possesses some rugged qualities and value opportunities, but overall it’s outclassed by other, newer pickups.

The veteran Nissan Titan is still worth a look when shopping for your next full-sized pickup. It still offers distinctive style, good on-road refinement and excellent towing capability, even if some of its features are now starting to look dated.

At the time of this writing, a hefty $4000 rebate was available on the Titan, making the value proposition a lot more attractive. Unfortunately, compared to its much more modern, refined competitors, value is about the only truly compelling feature of this dated truck.

The Titan is an adequate truck, as full-sizers go, but the years are ticking away and Nissan hasn’t kept up with the competition.
