There are any number of cars that can thrill in perfect circumstances. Far fewer are those that can be driven any time, anywhere. That is the true beauty of the Porsche 911 Turbo. One minute, it’s challenging a Ferrari on a race track, and the next it’s following a Suburban up a snowy road.

Yes, the ride is a bit stiff, but certainly not punishing. And the interior is finely crafted and functional, save for the flimsy cupholders. But what’s best about the new 911 Turbo is this: it offers easy access to stunning performance.

The latest 911 Turbo is one of the all-time great Porsches, and very possibly the most high-speed capable 911 yet. But, underneath all the revisions and enhancements, it is still a true 911. We should be thankful for that.
