In our road test, the Porsche Panamera not only revealed it could run with the stallion bloodlines of a genuine sports car, but that it makes both driver and car feel special, as though all of life’s sacrifices and hard work could somehow be summed up in a single automobile.

The Panamera Turbo isn’t a luxosedan. It’s luxurious, God, yes, is it ever. But it’s a sports car that happens to have two roomy rear seats. No BMW 7-series or Benz S-class is as gutsy, as connected, as direct, as agile. So you might call it a “tweener.” You might also call it wonderful.

There’s no question that the Panamera is a superb rendition of the automotive art, both from a performance and a luxury standpoint. Unfortunately, only a very few people with motoring lust in their hearts will be able to own one.

The Porsche Panamera looks classy and timeless. For sure, though, it can’t be mistaken for anything else on the road right now. And a few seconds on the road is all it takes the Panamera 4S to display its superb balance.
