Steering is direct and precise and the level of communication is downright enlightening. Between that, the easily interchangeable body panels, low power, and the Tridion safety cell, this should be on the short list of great cars for young drivers.

I can come up with a dozen reasons not to buy the Smart Fortwo, and only one really compelling reason why you should: It’s a neat little car, especially in convertible form. And to me, that’s good enough.

The positive attributes of the Smart fortwo – great looks, a fun ride, excellent fuel efficiency, agility and affordability – handily outweigh the downsides – limited passenger and cargo space. And now, you can be cute and stylish.

It’s hard to imagine a guy that would rather drive a Smart ForTwo rather than a much more sporty, and almost as cheap Ford Fiesta—which has a backseat, and can, if its driver has had some practice, jam into a spot that’s almost as insanely small.

The Smart fortwo is tiny, not very powerful, tiny, sort of silly looking, and really, really tiny. In fact, it’s so small that it doesn’t even capitalize its name.

The 2011 Smart ForTwo is one of the most unique cars on the road, but works best in an urban environment.

The 2012 Smart Fortwo, with its lack of refinement, rough transmission and unpleasant highway ride, is one of the least desirable cars on the market. There are plenty of other cars we’d recommend as a compact city car.

The ForTwo is the only car I’ve driven that I can’t recommend to anyone. It’s not that I dislike everything about the Smart; some things are — OK. It’s just that the car comes with so many quirks, compromises and faults that the cons kill it in my book.

The Smart Fortwo has a number of flaws, yet there’s something that’s still fun about it, all the more so if you’re looking for something small and nimble to run in-town errands.

The Smart ForTwo is a radical design statement that favors minuscule exterior dimensions, tight-quarters maneuverability, and fuel efficiency over pleasant road manners and passenger or cargo space.

The Smart ForTwo Passion Cabrio’s abysmal transmission, general lack of utility and unimpressive fuel economy doesn’t make a compelling case for the ForTwo.
