The 2010 Subaru Legacy is groundbreaking because it gives Subaru a car that measures up as a true contender. With a $19,995 starting point and a variety of personalities to choose from, there is certainly a Legacy that fits your motoring psyche.

We think that the 2010 Legacy GT will hold up very well against the mainline competition for buyers that are looking for something more performance oriented, and for those who aren’t afraid to stand out from the herd.

The 2010 Subaru Legacy B4 2.5GT is bigger, offers the best combination of handling and performance in its class and challenges the best from Germany in ride quality.

After a week of driving the 2.5 GT, I can report that it’s one of the most thrilling options in the mid-size segment. While this new Legacy is bigger and heavier than the outgoing model, we didn’t feel a great sense of weight when driving the car.

With standard all-wheel drive, big-car comfort and lively performance, the 2012 Subaru Legacy is a solid choice among midsize sedans.

Bigger, faster, more fuel efficient. These words aren’t paired together very often, but they perfectly summarize the 2010 Subaru Legacy sedan.

The 2010 Subaru Legacy is bigger, roomier, has an updated engine lineup and looks a bit sharper than its predecessor.

Apart from the painfully slow manual-transmission-equipped base model, there isn’t a Subaru Legacy we wouldn’t enjoy driving at length—especially the lively 2.5GT.

Subaru’s goal of offering more interior space, better fuel-economy and a more attractive sticker price easily holds true on base Legacy models. Sadly, the top-level 3.6R is a bit disappointing.

The Subaru Legacy isn’t perfect, but for what it is, we can’t think of a four-door that tickles the enthusiast soul more than this one. It’s an absolute standout in the family car segment.

The Legacy 2.5i, redesigned to begin the fifth successful generation, has plenty of power, tons of room, with luxury and comfort exceeding its class, while getting a combined 27 mpg with the CVT transmission, for a mere $21,000.
