The Eos is a fun car with plenty of standard features, and the facelift has modernized its look. It should be on the top of your shopping list if you’re in the market for a stylish, mid-$30,000 convertible.

At first glance, the 2012 Volkswagen Eos looks like a reasonable car, a mild two-door with the advantage of a retractable hardtop. But a look at the price tag is bound to cause jaws to drop.

Some people are merely seeking a solid, sensible, livable car with a versatile roof that lets them enjoy the sun and fresh air to the maximum extent the weather permits. For this mission, the Eos serves best.

The 2012 Volkswagen Eos is a great little 4-seater convertible. I even had fun driving it. On top of that it’s a great deal when compared against the Volvo and the Saab.

The Eos’ performance is better than any previous VW convertible, and closer to the GTI than it has ever been. For going to a business lunch one day, and beach cruising the next, the Eos is tough to beat.

The redesigned 2012 Volkswagen Eos is a small convertible that mixes good materials with a pleasant driving experience, but its price rubs up against some established luxury competitors.

The Eos is fast enough and handles well enough to keep all but the most hardcore drivers entertained. Get crazy with the trim levels and options, however, and the Eos can crack the $41,000 price point.
