Overall, the S63 is a brilliant automobile. Not only do you get all the high-tech S-class goodies, but you also get the stupidly intoxicating feeling of going proper sports car-fast in a luxury sedan.

The Virage is ridiculously good looking, despite Aston’s aging design aesthetic. And then there’s the driving experience. By the time you get to a road worth driving on, you’ll already have a stupid grin on your face just from hearing that V-12 engine.

If you like your luxury sport coupes to be more well-behaved, the RS 5 will certainly not disappoint. But if you want one, you need to hurry.

Despite its addiction to speed, the E63 is not a surgical driving instrument. There’s minimal feedback and feeling, and it’s too heavy. But that’s OK, because this Mercedes is exactly what AMGs usually are: finely crafted German hammers made out of the most appropriate unobtainium.

At the end of the day, this non-turbo 161-horse CX-7 is an average offering in a highly competitive segment with plenty of stiff competition, albeit one with above-average driving dynamics and sporty styling.

Though the Cadillac Escalade remains something of a blast from the past, it still has plenty of cool — at least enough that you won’t look lame towing your cigarette boat to the dock.
