With enough gadgets to keep Bill Gates happy and an interior that is as perfect as anything this side of Aston Martin, the 650i may just be the ultimate luxury GT.

Despite being the bargain in the main-line full-size luxury sedan line-up, the 2011 Jaguar XJ’s unique personality, brand cachet and driving experience are more akin to what you expect from a Maserati, Panamera, or dare I say it: an entry level Bentley.

With the CLS550’s twin-turbo monster under the hood, I do believe Mercedes has outdone themselves and in the process made their own AMG brand less relevant. The CLS550 is without a doubt the king of the four-door coupé market.

The XKR-S was built for three things: going fast, screaming like a banshee and making passengers wet themselves. Without a doubt, the XKR-S is a significant evolution of the standard XK.

The 328i managed to poke just about all of the right buttons. The combination of handsome looks, good fuel economy, nimble handling and gadgets galore is a siren call for gadget geeks in their 30s. If you value driving enjoyment, a slick nav and a gorgeous HUD, then the 3-Series is for you.

I value the M6′s perfect interior, comfortable seats, electronic do-dads and LED headlamps over straight-line or corner performance. Here is a BMW that embodies all the luxury I demand yet sacrifices only a smidgin of track performance in the process.

The Prius c may be the smallest and cheapest member of the Prius family, but it may also be the best. I am frequently asked what my favorite car is, and I don’t know if I have one – but the Prius c, for its reasonable price and high fuel economy, is certainly on the very short list of cars that I would buy myself.

When it comes time to buy your fourth car, what should you buy? If you care about modern gadgets and technology in your topless GT, the 650i is the hands-down winner.

The CL550 may be the “cheap” CL, but in my mind it seems to have nailed the personal luxury coupé as squarely as its fire-breathing siblings have missed the mark.

Are you buying that LS460 because it carries a $70,000 price tag, or because you like the way it coddles you? Are you buying the BMW for the roundel or for the 0-60 time? I would posit the Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec does all the above minus the badge.

Despite being the segment’s value choice, I’d call the S60 T5 AWD my second choice in this segment behind the 328i and ahead of the A4 Quattro. It’s about two paddle shifters and a 5% better weight balance away from perfection.

The 200 delivers a bigger trunk than many mid-size sedans, more rear legroom than Mustang, better visibility than Camaro and better “everythings” than an Eclipse. You don’t have to pretend you’re just renting a summer car anymore.
