The Camaro SS may not be the perfect vehicle — small quibbles here or there — but for this car, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. It looks good, feels good and rides great. What more could a cruiser ask for?

The 2012 Ford Focus is the complete package: Exciting exterior, premium interior and top-notch performance. Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne builds the single best compact car in the world.

The Cadillac CTS-V’s edges are sharp but polished. It’s bejeweled but understated. It’s a combination of contradictions that feels surprisingly balanced. This is truly the Cadillac of sports sedans.

The sum of the 2012 LaCrosse is truly greater than its pieces. Take all of the technology that makes cars more efficient and put them all together in the most reasonable way. All of the gizmos and gadgets are there. It’s comfortable and complete.

It’s big and brawny and classy and fun. The Super Duty, in any size or configuration, may be a work truck but it’s also a pleasure to drive.

The 2011 Ford Explorer is bigger but drives smaller. It’s modern. It’s filled with high-tech features that don’t make me feel like an idiot. And it gets good gas mileage. Oh, and it looks really nice, too.

You can still call the V-6 Mustang a chic car, Mustang Lite or anything else you can dream up, but it will knock your Piloti racing shoes into a ditch if you’re not paying attention. It can pass you on a mountain road, on the highway and at the gas station.

The 2010 Acura ZDX is not for everyone. It’s not even a safe bet. It’s for people reaching beyond the typical. It’s for risk takers, people who define their vehicles instead of the other way around. Astronauts come to mind as potential ZDX drivers.
