Unlike some supercars that can’t find their capes when they’re off the track, the Corvette ZR1 is always poised, controlled, and quick-witted.

Does the 2012 Bentley Continental drive differently? Hardly. It is still the same werewolf in a tuxedo, the same savage and powerful brute who dotes on his thimble collection. Its inscrutable combination of muscle and finesse bears evidence of endless tweaking.

The Ghost is incredibly fast and rewarding to drive—sporty, even—but it does not sacrifice the serenity, calm, and effortlessness that is essential to a Rolls-Royce. It cossets and insulates, but it also flies.

The top-up experience with the Maserati GranTurismo convertible reminded us why  we like the coupe so much. Both cars are lively and fluid—big, comfy GTs that mask their size with direct controls and tons of power.

The low cost, the flexibility, the mileage, and the fun combines to make the Insight especially appealing to buyers for whom hybrids have been out of reach.

The definition of a luxury car has expanded to include a high degree of sportiness. Not everyone wants that. So it’s refreshing and even a bit nostalgic to be confronted with a high-end sedan such as the E350 BlueTec, a car that defines luxury as the reduction of stress.

The Acura ZDX is endearingly weird, the sort of all-in-one crossover/sports coupe/sedan/SUV you might expect Citroen to produce.

The 2011 Edge Sport price is still high, but there is a lot more content this time out, and it’s a stronger effort all around—even if the word cluster “Ford Edge Sport” still strains some credulity.
