The 2012 Kia Rio sedan is an enticing player. The interior has a more upscale feel, along with premium features. Drive quality in the SX is much improved. And finally, we believe the Rio is probably the best visual execution of a sedan in the segment.

Here’s my suggestion to the people with a large amount of disposable income to play in this market: If you want a real driver, pony up an extra $30,000 and get a Ferrari 458 instead. But if you put more stock in styling, it’s hard to argue with this Aston Martin Vantage.

If you’re looking for a midsize crossover, the 2011 Edge is hard to beat. Big improvements in the interior and drive dynamics are noteworthy. For the techno-geeks, the MyFord Touch interface will entice with all the in-car connection options for news, stocks, weather reports and gasoline prices.

If you’re looking for a coupe and put high stock in style and potent performance, the CTS-V coupe is ideal. Nothing looks quite like it on the road and it garners plenty of praise from people in parking lots and at stoplights.

Do you want the Mercedes-Benz R350? If you put high value in the functionality of your vehicle, carry six or seven passengers often and don’t mind driving around a vehicle that closely resembles a (gasp!) minivan, then yes.

If you’re a serious Viper collector or are looking for a relatively inexpensive race car, then yes. The Viper ACR-X would be one heck of a buy and an awesome tool to further your club-racing career, or it would look great in your car collection.
