2013
Bentley Continental GT/GTC
Coupe |
The Bentley Continental GT Speed is a thoroughly impressive grand touring car. In crafting its meaner, sportier side, however, it feels as though Bentley’s gone a bit too far, giving up too much of the grace and refinement the company is known for.

Audi S8
Sedan |
The 2013 Audi S8 is one of the most capable sedans we’ve driven, and it does so at a price that shames some of its closest competitors. Audi has been firing volleys directly at sport luxury competition for years now, and with the new S8, it’s scored a direct hit.

The SLS AMG Roadster, as you’d expect, isn’t much different than the gullwing coupe. It’s not a better or worse car — it’s simply another way to experience the insanity.
I do miss the doors, though.

Mercedes-Benz CL-Class AMG

The CL63 AMG is a car for covering distances of any length with confidence and ease. A car with rear seats that are more spacious than the front seats of some cars. Get it out on the open road and listen to that V-8 burble along.

We can’t even think of an argument for purchasing the Spyder that any sane financial planner would approve. Would that stop us from buying one? Not at all. If we could, we would, and so would you.

The new Cadillac ATS is a very, very good car. It rides, drives, and handles exceptionally well, offers a deluge of technology and sports top-notch materials and build quality.

The Boxster S is a better-performing car than ever before, but not an entirely better car to my mind. The edge has dulled slightly and the result is a more mature, less emotional car.

At the end of the day, there really isn’t anything the 2012 BMW 328i Sport does poorly. However, you do have to consider the price tag.

The CLS550’s styling is polarizing, but we love it. And forget about outperforming the old CLS500 – the new CLS550 can show the old CLS55 AMG a thing or two.

Honda Accord

The Accord isn’t flashy or trendy, but it’s clearly designed to give midsize sedan customers what they want. It’s comfortable; it drives well; it’s easy to get yourself, your kids, and your stuff into and out of; it can get out of its own way; and it still gets good gas mileage.

What Hyundai has built here, then, is as much a sequel to the Genesis as it is a sequel to the Lexus story. Hyundai likely won’t have much trouble finding 3000 Equus buyers per year willing to trade some brand cachet for thousands of dollars in savings.
