A loaded Wrangler Sport is certainly not cheap, but we would be just as happy with the base version. Even with 3.21 gears and open differentials on both ends, the Wrangler Sport is an unstoppable force of nature and a suitable heir to the throne.

Kia Optima
Sedan |
The decision between the Sonata 2.0T and Optima 2.0T SX will come down to styling preference. The Optima’s heavy steering and less attractive interior may lose some buyers, we’re guessing that Kia isn’t going to have a problem finding buyers.

Land Rover Range Rover Evoque
SUV/Truck |
The 2012 Evoque has a unique knack for making onlookers want to be behind the wheel. With its emotive styling and precise driving dynamics, we could have spent another month behind the wheel without complaint.

2011
Lincoln MKX
SUV/Truck |
With more power, a quieter cabin and an interior that’s finally becoming of a true luxury brand, the MKX has the makings of a sales winner. We’re just not sure the Lincoln high-rider is far enough away from its kissing-cousin, the Ford Edge.

2011
Lincoln MKZ Hybrid
Sedan |
The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid has no problem besting its closest competitor, the Lexus HS250h, in every way. With more room and power, a quieter cabin, a comparable MSRP and significantly better fuel economy, it’s simply a better vehicle.

Mercedes-Benz R-Class
Wagon |
While the R350’s new corporate uniform will likely win over a handful of customers, chances are Mercedes buyers will just as soon buy the big-boy GL-Class SUV over its crossover sister – and at $49,300 for the gasoline R Class, we can’t really blame them.

Nissan Juke
Hatchback |
The styling of the Nissan Juke may not be for everyone, but after a week with the five-door, we grew warm to its funky face. Hey, if people can welcome pug dogs into their homes, they should have no problem opening up the garage door for the 2011 Juke.

Nissan Rogue

While the 2011 Rogue manages to cover all of the crossover bases, there’s very little to differentiate this compact utility from the rest of the crowd.

Subaru Forester
SUV/Truck |
We’ve liked the Forester since it’s 1998 debut, and while we would have liked the third-generation boxer engine bring to bring a little more to the table, the quieter, smoother mill makes for a more pleasant driving experience altogether.

2012
Subaru Impreza
Sedan |
This 2012 model has excised the precision of the previous generation. Still, a quieter, larger, more comfortable and more efficient Impreza that still offers the grip of all-wheel drive can’t help but resonate with buyers looking for a solid commuter.

We have to congratulate Subaru for rearming the STI. In a world of ever eroding performance in favor of poseur looks and not much else, the company has done an intelligent job of refocusing the car toward what made it a success to begin with.

Toyota Prius V

The Prius V’s small fuel economy sacrifices are more than made up for by increased versatility and backseat comfort. We even think the taller roof line makes the model more becoming. For the first time, the Prius name stands for fuel economy and functionality.
