2011
Ford Shelby GT500
Convertible |
The 2011 GT500 Convertible is better than what we drove in 2010, but it still isn’t where it should be – the body is still too flexible and we would never consider anything but the coupe if we were tasked with driving a Shelby along a California canyon road or out on a track.

2011
Mercedes-Benz M-Class AMG
SUV/Truck |
No one needs a 503-horsepower SUV capable of 155 miles per hour. In the real world, the 2011 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG makes no sense whatsoever. But you want one all the same. We understand.

Mercedes-Benz CL-Class
Coupe |
The once-sedate CL550 just got a massive flame lit under its tail, and the end result is a grand coupe that has more personality than ever before.

2012
Volkswagen R32
Hatchback |
We were enamored by just how good the Golf R is, and how much better its dynamics are over a standard GTI. It’s tuned to be more engaging than a GTI could ever dream of while still retaining the hatch’s high levels of comfort and quality.

2012
Buick LaCrosse eAssist
Sedan |
LaCrosse buyers will chose between two models at one price– the eAssist hybrid or the conventional V6. It’s a great proposition with a mild hybrid system that’s so streamlined and nicely integrated – not to mention one that carries a 37-mpg highway economy rating.

2012
Hyundai Veloster
Hatchback |
What makes the Veloster stand out is its unique styling, incredible levels of standard equipment, and the fact that it’s more interesting than the majority of other econoboxes. Of course, Hyundai’s excellent ten-year/100,000-mile warranty is a big win, too.

2012
Scion iQ
Hatchback |
The sheer entertainment value of the iQ and its clever packaging is exactly why it works and why I consider it a sort of guilty pleasure. It’s pleasant to drive, comfortable, attractive and relatively efficient.

2013
Audi A8
Sedan |
Wat exactly are you getting with the 2013 A8 3.0T? A more affordable entry point into the range that doesn’t lose anything in the way of driving dynamics while still offering relatively good looks, top-notch comfort and absolute class-leading tech.
